John's custom Surf Green Fender Stratocaster MIM 50's reissue by Earl Reinoehl. Earl added GFS I28 overwound single coil pickups, his own special tone and volume circuit and a blend switch to allow the neck and bridge pickups to play together and to invoke all 3 pickups at once. This in and of itself triples the tonal possibilities over a standard Stratocaster. John can make this guitar sound like a Jazzmaster, a Les Paul, a Telecaster or a Strat. Appearance-wise, Earl added a custom made pearloid pickguard and trim cover to match the aged knobs and pickup covers, gold pickguard screws and vintage style string trees. Last and not least, he worked the neck and set her up to play effortlessly with SIT 9 gauge strings. Needless to say, John is very a very happy man. Thank you Earl for a very nice job.
